Maitlamo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society was registered on the 17th September 1986 as a Cooperative Society by the Department of Cooperatives in accordance with provision of the Cooperatives Societies Act.

Executive Summary
Membership
Members are offered a saving facility which pays an annual interest rate as declared by the board.
The Main Loan
The main loan is up to a maximum of three times a member’s savings and payable with a maximum repayment period of 72 months at 15% annual interest rate.
Emergency Loan
An emergency loan of up to a maximum of BWP 15,000.00 payment over 20 months with 10% annual interest rate.
Quick Loan
The society’s quick loan is up to maximum of BWP 1,000.00
Additional Loan
Additional loan is an addition to members’ main loan, a member has to have a running main loan that have deducted for 6 instalments to be eligible to get an additional loan. Additional loan is up to a maximum of BWP 30 000.00 repaid over a maximum period of 36 months at 15% annual interest.
Education Loan
Education loan gives members the opportunity to study, by getting a maximum loan of BWP 20 000.00 paid directly to the provider and repaid within a maximum period of 12 months at 7% annual interest.
